Happy New Year and new beginning!

000January 11, 2007
Happy New Year and new beginning! I have had a busy but enjoyable holiday season. Had a rather tragic end to 2006 (I share more below) which is why you’ve not heard from me. Please know you’ve never left my thoughts or prayers! I’m just now finishing my Christmas cards.
I returned from the field the day before Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful and very prayerful visit to Israel. Family Life Resource Center has supported a Messianic Youth Movement led by two Americans who are Israeli citizens and the woman herself Jewish. When they began five years ago they had only six youth and today they have over 125 attend their Hanukah and summer conferences. Further, the youth now write worship music and lead one of the prayer watches at Succat Hallel House of 24/7 prayer in Jerusalem. It was awe-inspiring to celebrate worship with them. I spent two of my three weeks in Israel in prayer, prayer watches and with the youth.
My return flight allowed me a long weekend in London with a friend who was part of the staff at the House of Prayer in Kansas City. We had a delightful time and she gave me a quick driving tour in one of the old fashion black cabs (like you see in many movies) to see Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, etc. We rode a train four hours to Yorkshire to stay with some friends and to visit the Yorkshire Dales which were just gorgeous. Many British novelists lived and wrote in and about this area including the Bronte sisters (Wuthering Heights).

For now I am staying in Palm Desert California which is 120 miles east of L.A. It is 20 minutes
from Palm Springs and I enjoy and am grateful for the beautiful weather. After all my time in
the tropics, I do not handle cold well! This is the same area where former President Ford lived
and there was quite a “doing”. My daughter Aimee had the privilege of attending with her boss
the private family viewing here. President Ford had been on the board of the Bighorn Sheep
Institute where she is the Associate Director and senior biologist. Betty Ford and family spoke
with them both.

A younger sister, Janet, who has had a serious heart problem for years died the 23rd leaving two boys 11 and 12 and a good husband. The sad part is that the medications were so strong they created a severe depression. She has been sick for years and she just quit fighting. As a critical care nurse she took extra pain medications knowing it would stop her heart. She was 46. The other sister, Chris whom you’ve been praying for has had several miracles the past two
months including an unblocking of the intestine that needed surgery and a collapsed lung that reinflated.

However, the vasculitis (rare blood disease) is spreading to her lungs and her husband
who is a heart/lung specialist said that we need a huge miracle for the reversal of this disease or she will not be with us next year. She was at the funeral with a visible chest catheter and her face swollen double from medications and steroids. These meds have also destroyed her
immune system. I am fasting and praying for her until this healing is complete. Please pray with me? She too has two young children 10 and 13. She is also facing a terrible lawsuit from a former angry patient. No one in Minnesota knows why the judge allowed it since there is NO
malpractice. It is worsening her health and if she doesn’t win, most doctors will never take a risk in medicine again because this is allowing a person to sue a doctor for damages when there is nothing they did wrong—the outcome just did not make the person well! My sister has saved so many lives as a neuron-surgeon. It really seems a “backlash” of the enemy to destroy her. She believes in the power of prayer, so took risks that helped hundreds. They came from Europe as she did brain implants (brain pacemakers) for those with epilepsy and seizure disorders.

I want to thank you for ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS, ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT TO
OUR WORK IN CONGO AND KENYA. I’ve attached my report of what is happening with our
boys in Congo. I know you will enjoy reading it. I need to return by March or April to visit the
boys and to handle items from David’s House in storage so keep us in prayer.
While in Kenya, I updated you on our expansion activities. We planted a church, Kingdom
Family Center in the slum area and they are seeing healings and miracles regularly. Rev. Nancy Gitau continues work with the widows and we gave her funds to help seven widows start or enhance their businesses to support their families. She has visited the prison since we went in and released 14 and helped most of them start micro-enterprises. Rev. Nancy is encouraged as there were 38 salvations among the women. I’ve been asked to be a keynote speaker and to bring one other speaker for a four-day conference for prison chaplains, spouses and elders of
prison churches. This will be in April and tied in with the Congo trip.
I want to leave you with the following prophetic word given to me for your new year:
PSALM 37:1-7 FOR YEAR 2007
This will be a year that ends some things you’ve been praying will end and some things we’ve
prayed will come to fruition or fullness. This is going to be a year of many tough battles/trials
too. Joseph and Daniel rose as great men of God in the midst of terrible times in their nations.
This is how we will rise and have a great year too—not defined by circumstances.
1. Do NOT FRET, WORRY OR BE ANGRY when evil men have there way; bad things
happen. God is sovereign and truly in control.
2. TRUST in the Lord (unless we become as a child…we shall not enter …Mt. 18).
3. DELIGHT yourself in the Lord—enjoy and appreciate Him in your everyday life.
4. DWELL in the land—stay in Faith and don’t go running every direction.
5. COMMIT all your ways to the Lord—that’s means ALL.
6. BE STILL before the Lord; rest in Him (put your roots down and anchor yourself) and
know HIS strength and ability.
7. WAIT PATIENTLY on the Lord. He who created the world knows how many days it
takes to handle your needs.
